“I’m trying to remember if I’ve met her before. I’m sure I must have.” His eyes twinkled, then he asked, “What is she, the governor of Guam?”

Everyone in the room seemed to look at him in horror, their mouths agape. When Ed told him that conservatives were greeting the choice enthusiastically, he replied, “Look, I’m a team player, I’m on board.” He thought about it for a minute. “She’s interesting,” he said again. “You know, just wait a few days until the bloom is off the rose.” Then he made a very smart assessment.

This woman is being put into a position she is not even remotely prepared for,” he said. “She hasn’t spent one day on the national level. Neither has her family. Let’s wait and see how she looks five days out.”

I wonder how long this infatuation will last?

    Cabbie:

Far be it for me not to feed your crazy fetish.

I’m going to see if I can get it shipped to my son and then he can bring it with him next month when he arrives in the U.K..

If his transport does’t work I’ll try a corporate exec. who is jumping the pond constantly.

    But you’ll get Sarah..lol

  4. Ronnie on September 15th, 2009 5:14 pm

    Morgan.

You’re not helping him. He needs to get over this and move on. You might think you are being his friend but you’re not.

Better this than the “Sarah Palin Blow Up Doll”. :)

He’ll only ask for that next. He has to be strong.

    Morgan,

While you’re ordering Palin for C. Cabbie, get yourself one of those Chia Obama Clay Heads that sprouts grass/clover when watered.

Have you seen them, they are terrific…I’m thinking about buying several of them for my friends that voted for Obama.

It has Hope on one side and Change on the other side with President Obama on the front…it is beautifuly done and is such a wonderful likeness of the ‘One’…

It would look great on your fireplace mantle for those chilly English days.

I thought it would make a thoughtful Christmas gifts for my friends that voted for Obama…along with a note saying “How’s Obama’s Hopey, Changy thing doing it for you now?” :)

This is an article that we ALL should read. Fascinating look at some quirks in our health care system.

I’m going to email this to a friend who is the CEO of a hospital and get her thoughts.

    “infatuation”

When was the last time I blogged about Palin. Whether you like it or not, she is an important figure in American politics at the moment and this is a blog primarily about American politics. Actually, I deliberately try to avoid blogging about her because of your irrationality on the subject.

I’m worried you’re having a bit of a sense of humour failure today.

    Morgan

Sarah Palin rubber doll? Only if it winks :-)

There’s some more stuff about the lies of the teabagging protesters.

I will post them when l get home from work. :-)

  13. Israel on September 15th, 2009 10:05 pm

    Wait a minute.

This exerpt from the new book about Bush is about him taking the p**s out of Palin and saying that she wasn’t up to speed to be Vice President, and mocking her from coming from far away Alaska.

    Why is this being ignored?

  14. Conservative Cabbie on September 15th, 2009 10:16 pm

    Israel

I’ll tell you why, and despite ronnie’s mocking is the reason I put this up here.

It’s because the left don’t know which of Bush or Palin they want to side with. Talking about between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Have you seen the latest ACORN scandal. ACORN rep in san Bernadino admits she murdered her ex-husband. So that’s four scandals at ACORN offices, their funding voted nearly unanimously to be withdrawn by the Senate. They are going the way of toast.

  15. Israel on September 15th, 2009 10:32 pm

    Cabbie:

You support a party which has proclaimed itself to be the one of “Family Values” and in the last few months we have seen serial aduterers, kinky sex operatives and former leaders on a murder charge:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/15/steve-nunn-murder-charge-_n_286884.html

But lets just have a go at ACORN shall we.

It’s not like you have prostitute visiting lawmakers being opposed by an actual porn star because his morals are so in tatters she actually becomes a reasonable candidate to face him in an election, or you have law makers still fretting over what a former lobbyist has to say to keep his own sentence low (or have you forgotten Abramoff in that infinite viod of the right wing echo chamber?).

ACORN are the target now but with right wing astroturf lobby firms faking support letters and still bussing rent-a-mobs around the states, or still getting their christainist megachurches to ignore the 9th commandment, which they all laughingly claim to follow, l really think you need to be keeping an eye on the side you support.

  16. Conservative Cabbie on September 15th, 2009 10:36 pm

    Israel

You go boy. Straight onto the bayonets defending the people who think paedophilia and sex trafficking is OK. So yes, we will have a go at ACORN because they are corrupt, dishonest, perverse and the Democrats love them, which pretty much explains everything.

  17. Israel on September 15th, 2009 10:37 pm

    Cabbie:

BTW, it’s not a case of siding with either Bush or Palin, it’s sitting down with popcorn watching the circular firing squad in action with most of the guns now aimed at the former president by his own side who you were not allowed to criticize because it was (and still is) a time of war, even though republicans have forgotten that now the black guy’s in charge.

  18. Israel on September 15th, 2009 10:41 pm

    Cabbie:

    I didn’t defend ACORN.

I pointed out that they are the story now and that from the shattered ruins of the glass house you are standing on you shouldn’t really totter there gloating with those stones in your hand.

AND WATCH IT WITH THE “BOY”.

There’s been far too much of that being thrown around in the last few weeks, l may take the inflection in the wrong way.

  19. THX1138 on September 15th, 2009 10:41 pm

    Cabbie

ACORN for you is like Palin for us

So yes, we will have a go at Palin because she is corrupt, dishonest, perverse and the GOP love her, which pretty much explains everything.

It’s easy to attack, now stand back and count to 10 and think the other side might have a point .

  20. THX1138 on September 15th, 2009 10:43 pm

Watch it guys keep it calm

  21. Conservative Cabbie on September 15th, 2009 10:44 pm

    THX

Palin because she is corrupt, dishonest, perverse

And yet you can never come up with any evidence to support that.

now stand back and count to 10

I remember a certain incident involving expletives. That’s a bit rich.

  22. Conservative Cabbie on September 15th, 2009 10:46 pm

    Israel

AND WATCH IT WITH THE “BOY”.

You have got to be kidding me!!!

have forgotten that now the black guy’s in charge.

Here we go with the “they only don’t like him because he’s black” rubbish. No wonder liberals wanted Obama to win, it’s because they could dismiss every argument by saying you’re racist. It is pathetic, it is really starting to wind me up and it proves that liberals are the racists because they are so ready to use race as part of their discussion.

  23. THX1138 on September 15th, 2009 10:50 pm

    Cabbie

“I remember a certain incident involving expletives. That’s a bit rich.”

    Exactly why I said it.

    Corrupt- Trooper gate

    Dishonest- The Bridge to Nowhere

Perverse – I can see Russia from my house

    That was easy

  24. Conservative Cabbie on September 15th, 2009 10:53 pm

    THX

We’ve gone over this with Palin. she was cleared of troopergate, bridge to nowhere was wrong, but standard political operating procedure (have a look at what Obama thought of health care mandates in the primary when they were Hillary’s idea, and look at what he thinks of them now) and she never said that.

  25. THX1138 on September 15th, 2009 11:01 pm

I have an early start so I’m off to bed I’ll leave you with The Andrew Sullivan handy fact checked guide to the lies of Sarah Palin

    Re “boy”

I’ve calmed down a bit now. So firstly, I want to say that I understand the seriousness of that word and why you picked up on it. But surely you must know that I would never never use it in the context which you are suggesting. That thought never even occurred to me.

So I’m not going to apologise, because there was never any ill intent on my part, but I will try to avoid using it in the future.

  27. Conservative Cabbie on September 15th, 2009 11:05 pm

    THX

Most or all of which have been debunked. Sullivan is not a good source on Palin. Would you like me to do a list of Obama lies? They are much worse than Palin’s.

  28. Israel on September 15th, 2009 11:20 pm

    Cabbie:

Here we go with the “they only don’t like him because he’s black” rubbish. No wonder liberals wanted Obama to win, it’s because they could dismiss every argument by saying you’re racist. It is pathetic, it is really starting to wind me up and it proves that liberals are the racists because they are so ready to use race as part of their discussion.

    Sigh.

Yes, we are all just making it up and use it in the discussions to thwart those highly principled right wingers who would never dream of using dog-whistle racially charged rhetoric to stir up the base.

Everytime some drooling knuckle-dragger tearfully screams into a microphone that “we want our country back”, the left are making it up.

Everytime another email with a racist picture is sent:

    http://blogs.suntimes.com/mitchell/watermelon_white_house.jpg

    http://contexts.org/socimages/files/2008/05/obama-witchdoctor-muck.jpg

    http://contexts.org/socimages/files/2008/10/obamabucks3.jpg

the left are making it up.

Any time some goober in authority gets called out for race-baiting rhetoric:

    http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/08/27/rep-lynn-jenkins-calls-for-great-white-hope-to-thwart-obama/

the left are making it up.

When liberals say that the de facto head of the republican party has a long history of race based attacks (of which he is proud of):

    http://newsone.com/obama/top-10-racist-limbaugh-quotes/

And when one of the teabag leaders GOES ONTO THE F**KING NEWS AND CALLS THE PRESIDENT AN “INDONESIAN MUSLIM TURNED WEFARE THUG:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/15/tea-party-leader-melts-do_n_286933.html

well, it’s obvious that the left are making this s**t up!!!

What is pathetic is watching the remains of the sane republican party sitting back and letting the hate-mongering bigots who now control their party destroy it because they are too cowardly to step up and decry what is happening as they know that going up against the real republican leader limbaugh will be the end of them.

Looks like you reap what you sow.

Here’s a thought which seems to have escaped you. Maybe the reason there is such an increase in people calling out the racist tactics of the right is because there has been an increase in the racist tactics of the right?

You’ve tried this “liberals are the real racists” canard before, as have people on the right in the US, and while the likes of Jessie Lee Peterson, J.C. Watts, Alan Keyes and Ron Christe may pat you on the back and say “there, there” to your baffled suffering (Why oh why can these people not see? WE ARE THEIR FRIENDS, regardless of all the things we’ve said and done) the rest have not fallen for the bulls**t of the right wing message which has also driven the large small “c” conservative Hispanic community away with the continued race based attacks, or have you so easily forgotten the disgusting way Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor was treated, because Hispanics and the black community haven’t.

Sheesh…I missed all this angst over Sarah.

Okay Cabbie..I’ll get you the damn Blow Up Doll.

Plastic on the outside..hot air inside. What more could you ask :)

Its for amusement..don’t take it too seriously.

  32. Ronnie on September 16th, 2009 10:04 am

    Cabbie.

Thanks for pointing out that I’m supposed to choose between Bush and Palin. I must have missed that memo. I was quite content to pity both of them.
