Stand Still Obama
You just can’t keep up with him, one minute healthcare reform was urgent:
“The need for reform is urgent, and it is indisputable,” the president said, in an appearance at the Children’s National Medical Center.
And:
And for those who say, well, you know what, this is something that is very complicated so we shouldn’t rush into it — that’s what happens in Congress all the time. They have hearings, they write white papers, and then suddenly the lobbyists and the special interests start going at it, and the next thing you know, another 10 years has gone by and we still haven’t done anything. That’s not what’s going to happen this time. I am going to keep on pressing until we get it done this year. All right.
And now at today’s Town Hall in New Hampshire:
President Obama, talking about health-care reform in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, right now: “We have months to go before this is done, and we have years to phase in these reforms and get them right.“
Smart guy this President. I just can’t keep up with his mental flexibility.
And then he says:
I have not said that I am a supporter of a single-payer system,
He used the fact that he did say it as a bloody factcheck on his campaign website last year. This man is teflon to the truth.
But it’s OK, apparently one of the stages questions at this Town Hall was from an adorable nine year old child who asked about all the mean things being said. AAAhhh!
How can people like this man? No, seriously.
Update After Obaam relies on the really youth vote for cover and Democrat Rep. Vi Snyder decides to hold a Town Hall at a Children’s Hospital of all places, this seems strangely appropriate.

You know, some of the hypocritical bulls**t is so frustrating it makes me want to forget all the anger management l went through and do something some serious damage.
We sat through the Bush years of town halls where people with opposing views were denied entry if they wore the wrong type of t-shirt, or were detained if they had the wrong bumpersticker by fake secret service agents before those going in had to sign pre-screened loyalty oaths, giving right wingers asking pre-approved questions (if they were’nt standing up “just to salute the president”) the chance to geneflunct in front of “the decider”.
But NOW you are showing concern about town halls?
Pathetic.
Israel,
Whose concerned…we’re happy…its showing these arrogant politicans to be what they are. There is no going back, the emperors have been shown to have no clothes.
Israel

Perhaps you might like to explain this video then:

I’m not sure this counts as a pre-approved question
And how classy was Bush there?
Israel, I admire your ability to bring up names, facts and figures, so tell me a few campaign promises that Bush made and didnt keep….or things that he said and later turned 180 degrees on.
If nothing else it will start a great debate.
To me Obama is bare-faced liar with a cool smile.
An American…good video clip
obama’s favorite line when he is about to prevaricate is: “as i have always said . . .” watch for it. you will not have to wait too long.
obama’s favorite tactic is a straw man argument where he does not direct his remarks to the situation at hand but refutes an argument that has not been made.
slippery.
O. Tony,
Several of my emails are coming back…can’t figure out why…
Israel
Dude.
Cut me a break. Will you?
I know you are passionate.
Are you real?
Are you with me?
Liberty,
When has Israel ever shown any level of fairness or balance when it comes to politics or Obama. You are expecting too much from him when it comes to politics…on other subjects, he can be charming…but, politics, forget it.
Obama had a bad day…Israel had a bad day.
I’m sorry, An American but this is possibly the funniest thing you have ever written, unintentionally of course. I see a skeletal steel frame standing in the garden, broken glass lying all around it.
‘When has Israel ever shown any level of fairness or balance when it comes to politics or Obama. You are expecting too much from him when it comes to politics…on other subjects, he can be charming…but, politics, forget it.’
I laughed so loudly and for so long they heard me on the Isle of Skye.

We can find one example for every politician in the western world being classy, even Tony Blair.
The only thing is that this open town hall for bush only occured after many, many reports on screened town halls and denied entry to people of an opposite political viewpoint. He even had to cancel one in Germany where they reacted in disbelief when they were asked for the questions beforehand, something that Condi Rice had managed to get the French to agree to so SHE could avoid hard questions.

And it’s still happening:
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/08/09/vitter-mob/
but that doesn’t concern you lot on the right does it?
You’re all happy with people who don’t share your views being drowned out from the debate, you’re happy with the biased reporting from faux and others on the right, and you’re very happy about the lies concerning the healthcare bill being sent out to scare people by the politicians, media, blogs and amazingly even the emails from church groups on the right, but heaven forbid that someone point out the bloody hypocrisy from you lot sneering at a question asked at this town hall.
And don’t get me started on the un-American/un-patriotic bullpucky either.
BTW on Bush?
No Child Left Behind which leaves millions of children behind, a Clean Sky’s Act which has seen an increase in pollution and a hands off foreign policy which has seen pre-emtive aggressive war. Thats the three that come to mind at 8.07am.
Israel
Glad to see you’re still living in yesterday. Get over it, Bush is gone. The left had eight years of smiting Bush, it’s out turn now, and not only are we having fun, we’re being given plenty of ammunition to have fun now.
What have we seen recently
A Democrat holding a healthcare prayer meeting – idiotic
A Democrat holding a Townhall in a Childrens hospital – coward
Obama using children as political cover – Mr President, why are those people so mean? Now that’s pathetic.
Cabbie:
Bush is gone but the effects of his presidency life on.
As for having “fun”, I don’t see the difficulties our nation is facing as “fun” in the least. What would be fun would be seeing on these rude boorish people talk about the GOP health care plan rather than trying to keep real debate from occurring.
What would be fun would be to see a GOP Congressman show up for a town hall and discuss their alternative proposals. I’m exploring the GOP proposal, but from the looks of it it doesn’t look like they are that serious.
And yes..the GOP still has to answer for their conduct under the Bush presidency.
Ronnie,
I’m glad I made your day start out with a laugh…I can be funny, intentional or not.
Israel and Morgan,
When your horse is losing…start whipping Bush’s horse. We had seven long years of ‘Bush hate syndrome’ from your crowd..and I would take W back in a minuet unstead of this immature, dangerous socialist.
Morgan,
I have no Republicans from New Mexico in the Congress or the Senate to ’show up’ and conduct a town meeting. So, I going to one tonight without them…don’t worry, the American people are doing it themselves.
And yes, it is fun to see these arrogant liberal, blowhard politicians make complete asses of themselves…
“It’s free money”! “Thank God for Obama, he’s looking out for us”! are just a few of the comments made by New Yorkers while standing in line to receive American’s taxes disguised as stimulus money from Obama and his billionaire money-man backer, George Soros this week. Soros even got a little teary eyed while thanking these leeches for their votes.
It reminded me of Ahmandinejad handing out potatos when he was losing his rigged election.
Rest assured, An American, you are the source of much amusement. I’ve had to get a new chair with extra high arms to stop me falling to the floor all the time.
Fortunate indeed that we don’t use webcams on this blog.
Incidentally, you can’t loose a rigged election. Even W couldn’t manage that.
Ronnie,
I must be doing something right…because you are sure nit-picking everything I write here…coming from a lefty, that reassures me.
Don’t you dare let up, An American.
to: if the shoe fits . .
john david lewis is a visiting associate professor of philosophy, politics and economics at duke university. no doubt he is a right winger. none-the-less he has done a scholarly study of parts of hr3200. i suggest you look at it.
he cites relevant passages of the bill and translates them into plain english.
to my eye he validates essentially everything about the bill (on those issues he addresses) that the “mobs” have been complaining about at the ongoing town halls and elsewhere.
rationing, service denial, making all information about everyone available to all government agencies, forbidding legal remedy against the government, outlawing of health savings accounts, destroying private insurance, government set fees, playing gatekeeper at hospitals and other service providers based on statistics and many, many more power grabs by the government.
to those who say not to worry, they would never do that i say b.s. i am certain that the law would be used to deny care for the elderly because their “value” to society is less (read: their ability to pay taxes and support the government). i.e., one of obama’s czars has claimed that 1 15-year old is 14 time more valuable to society than an 85 year old person. nice.
this bill is an abomination that is being seriously misrepresented by its proponents. the American public is being lied to. anyone who says otherwise is simply wrong.
this kind of change is irreversible. if the present medical infrastructure is destroyed it can never be re-created. if passed it will alter America permanently and in a very deleterious way..
so be a proponent of this kind of system all you want. but you are incorrect when you say that hr3200 critics do not know what they are talking about.

Shockwaver…you are spot on buddy!
Israel 8:08 am…if you watch that speech from Vitter a bit longer, you will see there are a lot of black Americans in there nodding their approval of what Vitter is saying.
Wow, blacks going against the ‘O’ !!!
So, even if the audience was a mob or rented or democrats were denied entry or denied being able to ask questions; the multi-racial crowd supported him
shockwaver,
Thank you for your take on Obamacare…that and the website were very informational.
Its true, once the genie is out of the bottle, there is not getting it back in. We must fight this with everything we have…this is about giving over complete control of our health and to an extent our lives to a handful of liberal governmental socialist control freaks.
OT:

WHAT?!?!?!?!!?
What the hell does that have to do with the point l made?
This was a PRE-SCREENED AUDIENCE WITH PRE-SCREENED QUESTIONS that diaper sex boy was puffing his sunken chest in front of and acting like he was Leonidas at the Battle of Thermopylae.
From the way he was reacting it was as if he had faced down the thousand nations of the Persian empire all by himself, instead of a hand picked group of people for whom he had already prepared hia answers.
It has NOTHING TO DO with the make-up of the crowd, but EVERYTHING to do with the lying hypocisy of what he said.
How is that so difficult to understand?
