From The Heritage Foundation

There is one part of America that is suffering less than others during this economic crisis: Washington D.C.

As Michigan announces 15.2% unemployment and 14 other states report unemployment of 10% or more, Washington is bucking the trend with only 6% unemployment. It is losing jobs at a slower rate than any other city in America. That’s hardly surprising though, 15 cents of every federally spent dollar stays in D.C. to fund the growing bureaucracy. And jobs are flourishing too:

And, of course, the size of the federal government is exploding under President Barack Obama. According to the Partnership for Public Service, the federal workforce, currently at 1.9 million, is expected to grow to about 2.1 million during the Obama administration.

When Barack Obama said that “change is coming to Washington”, little did we know that he meant it literally. A whole lot of loose change for Washington alone and a whole lot less for the rest of the country.

This is the drawback to the left’s love of government spending, it fills the wallets of the bureaucrats and the politically connected and does little for the rest of us.

Yes, our liberal son and daughter-law live in the Washington DC area…and they say things are going great guns there…how we ever raised a liberal is a mystery to me…

Drove from Scottsdale to Vegas yesterday on my own ( everyone else flew) spent the entire 6 hrs listening
    to wingnut talk radio.

It was just so crazy particularly Savage nation which was an hysterical unfocused rant agiainst the world. He hates Obama obvioulsly comparing him to Stalin, Pol Pot and Hitler. Big government and anyone who works for the Goveremt except the troops of course; big buisness GE & Goldman Sachs Are traitors. It was also deeply racist with attacks on blacks but most particulary on Hispanics legal & otherwise.

The whole show panderd to white losers, your liife is crap so it must be someone elses fault, the government, big buisness and immigrants never yours are loyal listners.

What is really scary is that people believe this shit!

    Hi THX

The whole show panderd to white losers, your liife is crap so it must be someone elses fault, the government, big buisness and immigrants never yours are loyal listners.

How does that differ to the politics of the left? They pander to economic or minority “losers”, tell that life is crap and that it is someone elses fault. The racists, the establishment, big business.

    THX,

Why would you listen to Savage while driving through some great western scenery?

You should have had Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Rodeo and Appalachian Spring on…Copeland captures the true America. And then a little Alison Krauss would have been nice and definitely American.

It’s unfair for you to compare Conservatives…Limbaugh and even Hannity to Savage. Savage is an ugly, ugly man. No one except sickos listen to that hate-monger.

Enjoy Vegas and the Beatle’s Love!

    C. Cabbie,

No..he was not rebellious at all. He was a great, well-rounded kid, good student and tough line-backer on his football team.

But he went to law school…all law professors are far-leftys. He married another lawyer that came from a very liberal home environment, then he moved to Wash. DC…all his friends and co-workers are liberals…the poor guy didn’t have a chance…and he is very intelligent, his father thinks he is the smartest in our family…You would think that he could see the big picture…like I said, it’s a mystery to me and my husband.

We don’t talk politics when we get together…needless to say…ha.

At least he will do well out of the next 4-8 years. Perhaps you could tap him for a loan the next time your tax bill comes in :-)
