Here is what Obama said on a conference call with liberal bloggers about healthcare:

I think the time for talk is through. It’s time for us to go and act.

And here is what Obama said to reporters as reported by Reuters (H/T HotAir):

President Barack Obama said on Tuesday U.S. healthcare reform was “closer than ever” but there was still work to do as his top policy initiative, already rejected by Republicans, ran into trouble with his own Democrats.

He continues:

Asked whether he would sign any of the bills now being considered in Congress, Obama told NBC’s “Today” show: “Right now, they’re not where they need to be.

Question. If Barack Obama is so conflicted, how is anyone supposed to have confidence in the process? He is saying that the bills aren’t good enough, but that the time for further discussion is over. This is either inconsistent, lazy or dishonest. I’ll let you decide for yourselves.

Update

Kiss goodbye to your healthcare plan. The Heritage Foundation have published a report (PDF) which shows that people will lose their healthcare plan as part of Obama’s reform and requirement for all healthcare plans to be subject to a regulated exchange:

* Approximately 103 million people would be covered under the new public plan and as a consequence about 83.4 million people would lose their private insurance. This would represent a 48.4 percent reduction in the number of people with private coverage.
* About 88.1 million workers would see their current private, employer-sponsored health plan go away and would be shifted to the public plan.
* Yearly premiums for the typical American with private coverage could go up by as much as $460 per privately insured person, as a result of increased cost-shifting stemming from a public plan modeled on Medicare.

Choice is not a word in the liberal vocabulary.

Two of the three are correct…lazy and dishonest.

As for inconsistent, he scores a very high consistently inconsistent.

He is a promise breaker too and yes, he will let Bills pass that wont work so long as his narcissm is fed…the ego gets puffed up.

Obama has an ego of all egos…he will do ANYTHING to get this…’his’ healthcare bill passed.

Krauthammer just said if Obama was unable to pass any kind of health bill…his presidency will be over…so he believes that Obama will go along with a much watered-down bill…And then continue to proclaim himself ‘King of the World’…my words.

We do need an overhaul of our healthcare system, although I am very happy with mine…but everything that Obama and the Democrats have been touting would be ten times worse than what we already have…I don’t know the cure for this problem…any of you have ideas on improving it?

I know the problems but not all of the solutions.

    1. Many people can afford health care but refuse to buy it. That includes young adults and some in the middle class that make upwards of $80,000 per year..

    2. Medicare and Medicade is abused by patients and doctors alike and is 10 times less cost effective than it should be.

    3. Doctors give unneccesary tests to protect themselves from lawsuits. I do know the answer to this. We need Tort reform badly…but US lawyers are some of the biggest money contributors to the Democratic Party.

4.There is a small population that cannot afford health care insurance. They can, however, go to County hospitals for free care. I’ve always thought that the government should set up free clinic for the indigent so they don’t take up valuable urgent care in hospitals.

    5. Obama and the Democrats want government health care for 15,000,000 illegal immigrants…this will go away and should. Let them go home for medical care or pay for it out of the money they make off our system.

what has been forgotten in the present debate is older people. remember the social security reform debate during the bush years. democrats demagogued the issue to the hilt campaigning that the republican were trying to take away their social security.
fast forward to the present. a big part of the funding will come from cutting medicare. older people will have rationing at best and more likely service denial if the commissars deem they are not worth the investment required to prolong their lives. it’s slow motion euthanasia.
    disgraceful.

When politicians want to advertise on radio, television or print, they must be given the lowest rate currently being given to another advertiser. Therefore, if a radio station (for example)is giving a “buddy” a $10.00 rate for a :30 second commercial, a politician must be given that same rate.

Now, hospitals and physicians each negotiate rates with insurance companies for services rendered.
The lowest rates are Medicaid HMO rates. If a patient presents in the E.R., the insurance company will pay the hospitals a negotiated rate, NO MATTER WHAT SERVICES ARE RENDERED. This includes CT scans, Labs, suturing, setting broken bones, any medications that are given, and includes the ER physician, radiologist interpretations and specialists called in to see the patient.
The all-inclusive price is between $200.00 and $500.00, depending on the state and the county in that particular state.
If a patient needs to be admitted, there is a set daily rate, THAT IS ALL-INCLUSIVE, NO MATTER WHAT SERVICES ARE RENDERED.
That rate is anywhere between $150.00 to $250.00 PER DAY.
***This would include (for example) any surgery: Coronary By Pass, Appendectomy, Orthopedic, and on and on and on…
This information should be made public by the hospital. People without insurance should not be charged any more than the lowest contracted rate the hospital is honoring at the time services are rendered. PERIOD!
If heathcare in this country were handled in this manner, most of us wouldn’t require insurance to begin with. We could then afford to pay for services as events arose in our lives. A hospital stay wouldn’t be “catastrophic”.
Health insurance coverage could then be for specific “catastophic” events, like neurosurgery resulting from cancer, auto injuries, or events that require ICU, ventilators, long-term care (for example).
We shouldn’t need insurance to pay for drugs. Pharmacies should be required to make their contracted rates available to the public. The lowest contracted rate for medications should be available to everyone.
    PERIOD!
Insurance drug coverage should be for things like chemotherapies (oral and I.V.), Home I.V. antibiotics.
And while I’m still on my Soap Box, since drug companies give out samples to physicians, they need to be doling out samples to all pharmacies. There is absolutely no excuse for pharmacies not to give out free samples of a medication if they have a written prescription from a licensed physician! PERIOD!

    The Heritige Foundation?

Well at least it wasn’t the Koch family’s Cato Institute.

The n again Koch will just keep using Freedoms Works for healthcare.
