I love Joe Biden, only because when I’m criticised by an Obama supporter for cheering on Sarah Palin, I can say: “well you supported Joe Biden”.

Asked by Jonathan Riskind of the Columbus Dispatch to explain how the White House determined these numbers (the White House saving or creating jobs), Biden said that the Council of Economic Advisers makes its estimates based on measuring what the U.S. employment level would have been without the stimulus, and then comparing it to the nation’s actual employment level. “I’m sorry I’m not an economist,” Biden said as he was describing the methodology.

Well thank goodness that the Democrats put someone a heartbeat away from the Presidency and in charge of the stimulus roll-out who doesn’t know his economics from his elbow.

Do you thinks it’s possible that Obama picked him to make himself look better?

There’s a rather rude joke that asks “how do you know when an Indian is lying?” Answer “when his lips are moving!”

“How do you know when Biden is talking bullshit? Answer “when his lips are moving!”

    Ronnie

Joe Biden makes Dan Quayle look good :-)

Personally I think Biden has some incriminating photos. I cannot for the life of me think what this man offers.

I see Ms Palin has been making a fool of herself again.

I do so hope she runs in 2012.

Find me one thing in that article that says she is making a fool of herself.

As opposed to David Letterman who says that Palins 14 year old daughter should get knocked up. There really is a class deficit from some on the left (not you I quickly add).

How about dismissing women elected to public office as ‘mommy mayors and girl governors’

Kind rolls back a few decades of women fighting for equality don’t ya think?

  7. Ronnie on June 11th, 2009 11:13 am

    Aw, shucks, y’all, mommy mayors…

Either Palin is mentally 12 years old or she thinks everyone she speaks to is 12 years old.

  8. Ronnie on June 11th, 2009 11:14 am

Ah, Dan Quayle. Such happy memories.

Well as she was a Mommy mayor and is a girl governor, I hardly think she is dismissing anyone. Think it through now.

Kind rolls back a few decades of women fighting for equality don’t ya think?

Er, no. How do you reach that conclusion? She also said: “getting to be here and to see those who have paved the way to allow me and other women standing on their shoulders to progress . I have so much appreciation for all of their efforts, and their success.”

    and:

“She knew something had to be taken care of and she stepped up and she did it,” Palin said of Tubman after leaving the house.

I’d suggest that she’s very respectful of the womens rights fight wouldn’t you?

Another Palin non-story. Adding it to the very long list.

…Palin went on to give a big shout-out to “mommy” Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher & “mommy” PM Indira Ghandi & to praise “girl” Chancellor Angela Merkel and “girl” Israeli PM Golda Meir… all of whom were the first PM in their respective countries.

Not really but do you get my point.

The biggest non story of the lot is going to Ms Palins becoming President of the USA.

  11. Ronnie on June 11th, 2009 12:30 pm

Gee, gosh, shucks a girl President?

    Thanks Ronnie

That amused while I was on endless hold on the phone to Apple Tech Support.

Well we have been seeing that reaction over a black President.

  15. Ronnie on June 12th, 2009 6:37 am

    Cabbie.

    Oh, that’s OK then.

Of course it’s not alright – sheesh! How’s about we focus on issues rather than personalities? I thought that’s the way you wanted to do things, and yet any mention of Palin brings out the drivelling infant in you.

  17. Ronnie on June 12th, 2009 7:52 am

    Cabbie.

My issue is not actually with Palin at all. A conclusive victory of style over substance.

I have a problem with obviously rational and intelligent people telling me how great she is. It is her supporters that get me going. I think, and this is utterly instinctive, WTF!?

  18. Ronnie on June 12th, 2009 9:07 am

    Cabbie.

Why not do a post on the strengths of Palin, what is her appeal to the GOP in its current state? What is that makes people throw their political ‘knickers’ at her?

I’m floundering here, I just don’t get it.

  19. Conservative Cabbie on June 12th, 2009 9:19 am

    Ronnie

Well I’ve said a number of times why I like her but I may well do so. i’m reluctant to because of the childish response that the mere mention of her name brings about.

  20. Ronnie on June 12th, 2009 9:31 am

    Cabbie.

I know you’ve given bits and pieces here and there and I realise this isn’t really a running-for-office thing, it really is a heartland issue and I’ve never quite grasped that.

I promise… Cross my heart and hope to die.

    I am genuinely interested.

What got me was this complete (outside of the neocon enclave of the anti-nostrodamus bill kristol) political neophyte who’s major achievement to that point was to get oil companies to pay a big tax increase so she could give free money to everyone in Alaska (population less than Chicago):

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/sep/08/palin-put-alaskans-ahead-of-big-oil-greens/

(There’s a word for what she did. It was a kind of what do you call it? Oh yeah, SOCIALISM) even right wingers like joe scarborough and pat buchanan were shaking their heads when it was rumoured that she had been chosen:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTbsbeY5k5k&feature=PlayList&p=883E05C182178DBD&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=11

but then they were gushing over her acceptance speech as if SHE had actually written it, forgetting that it had just been tweaked by the republicans to fit for a female candidate, the car crash interviews with Couric, and the low expectations of the VP debate easily reached which led to this (rather creepy) comment from NRO’s rich lowry:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phqYQS5NO0s

Then again maybe lowry summed up the appeal of palin to a lot of the males on the right. Really couldn’t have been all the major policies she promoted. :-)
